These are the garden trends of 2025: time for wooden garden furniture!

2025 is just around the corner and it’s time to dive into the home and garden trends of the coming year! The garden has long since ceased to be a place to be enjoyed only on summer days; it has become an extension of our interior. So in 2025, garden trends are all about year-round outdoors, luxury, comfort and also sustainability.

The emphasis in the 2025 garden trends is not only on aesthetics, but also on creating a living environment that exudes sustainability, offers functionality and adapts to the changing weather. More and more people are opting for luxury, wooden garden furniture that is stylish and practical, as well as very long-lasting and therefore has a low footprint.

To help you create a beautiful garden design for next year, we have developed three garden trends for 2025 for you.

1. The soothing nature corner

In 2025, more and more people are focusing on creating restful places that are close to nature. Garden lovers want a place where they can escape the hustle and bustle of everyday life for a while. The trend revolves around minimalist designs with natural materials such as wood and stone, combined with lush plantings and water features. Wooden garden furniture not only adds charm, but also provides a warm, organic look that is perfectly in tune with nature. Consider a set of luxurious wooden garden chairs that are perfect for a relaxing reading corner in the garden, where you can recharge your all. A (flowing) water feature, possibly with lush, native water plants, is a must in this trend. This adds a lot of life to the garden and a calm sight and the beautiful sound of rippling water. Under the canopy, a heater is not a luxury, so you can enjoy the garden all year round.

2. The edible garden

With the growing interest in sustainability and self-sufficiency, the edible garden is gaining ground. Gardens increasingly serve not only as a place to relax, but also as a source of food. This trend will continue in 2025 as well, and you will see more and more edible plants and flowers returning to ornamental gardens. Think fruit bushes or nut trees and a border with various herbs such as thyme and rosemary. Through polyculture, you can even grow different crops in a beautiful way in your ornamental garden. Again, natural materials, mainly wood, play a big role. Consider, for example, a wooden garden set with a hefty table for shared meals in the garden.

3. The minimalist garden

Low-maintenance gardens, but with lots of greenery and a nice sitting area, will also be very popular in 2025. These gardens emphasize simplicity, straight lines and subtle integration of natural elements. Choose evergreens and subtle flowering plants. Stimulate your senses and opt for a few plants that smell great and keep the colors simple. You can add some extra warmth to your garden with wooden elements, for example, a wooden garden table or wooden garden chairs. In summer, you can put a few houseplants like the strelitzia and banana tree outside to give the garden an even greener look. Make use of soft cushions and blankets for under the canopy to enjoy the garden even in the colder months. If you have tiles, you can even opt for an outdoor-ready rug to create a slightly finer atmosphere. If you want more warmth, then a small fire pit is also very suitable.

Balconies and canopies

Even if you have a balcony, or a small garden, you can use these garden trends as a handhold. For example, start with (wooden) garden furniture that is not only stylish, but also takes up little space and you can fold it down if necessary. Choose plants in planters that match your style. Possibly you can even grow some herbs or crops on your balcony. Anything is possible! Dress the balcony in the winter with warm materials and cozy lights, so you can enjoy being outside in the colder months here as well.
